Sunday School Makes a Difference

The purpose of Sunday School is to make a difference in the lives of people.  During the opening of Sunday School University, the leaders shared stories based on fictional characters to highlight that the goal of Sunday School is to see people who don’t know Christ come to know Christ and those who do know Christ grow in their faith.

Let me introduce you to Jay and Gena.  Jay and Gena recently moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee.  Jay is a young professional and Gena has gotten a job as a school teacher.  Like many young adults, both grew up in church but have not attended regularly in several years.  They have decided to give church another try and plan to attend Sunday School and worship this Sunday.

If Jay and Gena showed up at your church and in your Sunday School class , what kind of experience can they expect?  Is your class expecting new people? Will someone be there on time to greet them?  Are you prepared and ready to provide a great Bible Study Experience?  What is your plan for building a relationship with Jay and Gena?

Jay and Gena are fictional characters…but their story represents other young adults that live near your church or in your neighborhood.  How can your church make a difference in the life of young couples like Jay and Gena.
